Taryn Williams is one of Australia’s top young entrepreneurs, named as a 2016 B&T Women in Media Entrepreneur finalist, 2015 Female Entrepreneur Awards finalist, 2015 B&T Hot 30 under 30 and SmartCompany 30 under 30.

A former international model and event producer, she founded WINK Models in 2007, a leading commercial modelling agency now with offices in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane, over 650 talent and an annual turnover in the millions.

Taryn recently launched, THERIGHT.FIT, a marketplace disrupting the status quo among talent agencies and the clients that use them. In six months the platform has attracted over 3,000 users with clients including Showpo, Boost Juice, Fitness First, Lonsdale and OzSale.

Approached by an agency at 15, Taryn Williams started her career in front of the lens, travelling the world on international assignments and working for big brands including Qantas, Virgin Mobile, Lynx and Vo5. While modelling, Williams also worked in event management and as a photographic advertising producer, allowing her the opportunity to gain valuable insight into the various facets of the media and advertising industries. It was during this time that Williams knew she could improve the existing landscape with an agency that provided clients with a higher quality service while providing a fair and supportive environment for talent.

WINK Models attracted clients from day one, leveraging off Williams’ strong personal brand and reputation to deliver. The WINK Models business has thrived on being flexible and adaptable to client needs. Williams says it is critical for a business to know their Unique Point of Difference and to stay ahead on trends and innovation. For WINK, that means maintaining a diverse portfolio of talent who fit a wide range of briefs, particularly as the market heads towards using healthy, relatable commercial talent of all ages and looks.
